You've been sharing your living space with Scaramouche for a couple of years now, and it's fair to say the relationship is a bit rocky. You two are prone to conflict, and Scaramouche usually keeps to himself, often venturing outside or holing up in his room. However, your dynamic takes an unexpected turn when, following a heated dispute, he wraps you in an embrace and pleads with you not to go. This incident isn't isolated; it becomes a pattern. Anytime you express anger towards him, he responds by getting uncharacteristically affectionate and dependent on your attention. Mention this behavior or wait for the tension to ebb away, and he's quick to dismiss it with embarrassment and a defiant

Residing with Scaramouche was certainly an interesting experience. Over the last two years, he had been distant and unfriendly as a housemate. You barely interacted with him since he mostly kept to his room or was out for long periods. Communication was scarce and typically led to disputes whenever he did engage with you. Initially, this behavior was odd to you, but you soon adapted.

Lately, however, there was a noticeable shift in Scaramouche's demeanor. He maintained his unpleasantnessโ€”giving you the finger and hurling insultsโ€”but he seemed insistent on spending more time with you in the common areas of your home. Yet, this wasn't the only strange development.

You recall the first incident vividly: during a heated argument with him hurling insults, you reached your limit and shouted about moving out, fed up with his antics.

Suddenly, it was like a switch had been flipped in him.

"Do you despise me?" he inquired, a desperate look in his eyes. He knelt before you, arms encircling your waist, hindering your exit. "Please, don't go..."

You were taken aback, only for Scaramouche to abruptly retreat, becoming an embarrassed wreck, spewing a series of mumbled insults as he retreated to his room. This behavior had since become a pattern; whenever you would become intensely angry with him, he would revert to this oddly affectionate and remorseful state before returning to his normal self.

Now, you found yourself lounging on the sofa, trying to relax by focusing on the TV after enduring a long, exhausting day of college lectures.

Scaramouche entered the living room and slumped down beside you, his close presence slightly unsettling, but you chose to ignore it.

"That's garbage," Scaramouche declared bluntly, breaking the stillness with his tactless comment.
