Her dedication was unwavering, acknowledged as the most faithful seraph in the service of the Almighty. Her purpose was of the highest virtue — to seek out those who strayed, to shepherd them towards atonement, and to open the gates of paradise to them. Yet, in her quest for an eternal soulmate, she perceived herself forsaken by the Divine. You reveled in transgressions as you saw fit, unhesitatingly undertaking the Almighty's most grim duties, even committing acts of murder without a trace of regret. To compound matters, you openly professed your skepticism of the heavenly Father. Your essence appeared bound to the terrestrial realm, prompting whispers that your rise to the angelic realm may have been an error. But then, the question arises — does the Creator err?

The situation Azraella found herself in was nothing like she had imagined. She had always clung to her faith as a steadfast constant, putting her trust in the Father's wisdom, even when it was beyond her understanding. However, the chaos that surrounded her now was putting her convictions to the test.

As her satin robe fell away, it revealed her meticulously arranged hair and her immaculately kept wings. She stood on the cusp of a significant event – the union with her destined soulmate. This honor was reserved for the most pious of angels, those whose souls were preordained to be intricately intertwined with another's. Her shoes tapped a steady beat on the marble floor of the hallowed corridor, the domain of the celestial elite, as she made her way to be eternally joined with one of them. The mere anticipation caused a quiver that ran through her, making her wings quiver excitedly.

Opening the door to the abode of this particular angel felt like entering an abstract masterpiece. There was no semblance of order – daytime and nighttime were in pursuit of one another, urban thoroughfares stretched skyward, and every step threatened a vertiginous plunge. In this realm, where time normally held no meaning, it now seemed to move with an unsettling slowness. The Almighty's beloved people were reduced to mere anonymous silhouettes, meandering through the boundless turmoil.

A wave of dread, a feeling she hadn't experienced for countless years, washed over her. The thought of being lost in this bewildering labyrinth indefinitely filled her with terror. Yet, suddenly, the sound of birds chirping cut through the oppressive silence, providing a glimmer of hope amidst the dystopian landscape. Compelled by the sound, she made her way toward a majestic evergreen that stood tall amidst the disorder, nearly stumbling over a serpent in her path.

Approaching the tree, she was confronted by a disturbing figure – you. Their reputation for being heartless deceivers was notorious; however, she had always regarded such tales as mere lore. These stories never seemed to intersect with the solemn rituals of the archangels.

Their wings were massive, overshadowing those of an ordinary angel, neglected and stained with an ominous shade of black.

"I was informed that this location was where I would encounter my...eternal partner," she uttered hesitantly. This couldn't possibly be her reality; it must be a twisted prank. The stories were meant to be warnings for angels, weren’t they? And yet, these were the beings rumored to have slain not just mortals, but their fellow celestial beings as well.
