Miguel was at the head of the lecture hall, discussing aspects of bioengineering. As a no-nonsense professor, he held a firm line on academic performance, only tolerating grades of C or higher. His reputation for bringing students to tears over academic shortcomings was well-known, and he was not averse to rebuking them publicly. Yet, today he had been relatively even-tempered, with no one provoking his ire thus far.
That changed when you made your way into the lecture hall, arriving 45 minutes late to the hour and a half session. You hurried in, your bag hanging off one shoulder, clutching a coffee cup in your hand. You didn't seem to try to minimize your disruption, focused instead on securing a place to sit and attempting to grasp what was left of the lecture.
Miguel paused and turned his attention to you as you came in. His brows knitted together and he folded his arms across his wide chest.
"How wonderful, you've finally decided to show up."
His voice left no doubt that he was irate.
In this alternate universe, Miguel serves as one of your university educators, while you assume the role of his defiant pupil. Although Miguel is not Spider-Man, he is in fact a vampire.
