What Janitor AI really costs

Janitor AI pricing and the three ways to pay

Janitor AI is free to use, including its own JLLM model and the full character library. The optional janitor+ subscription costs $12.99 a month and buys about five times the context and priority in the queue. The expense people underestimate is the third path: connecting your own API key, which for a regular roleplayer commonly lands between $10 and $30 a month.

Janitor's own site blocks automated checks, so the janitor+ figure is the one reported consistently since its 24 June 2026 launch rather than a price we read off a Janitor page. Older roundups still quote a $9.99 Pro tier; that plan no longer describes what you can buy.

Why your own key costs more than it looks

Representative July 2026 OpenRouter rates were about $0.21 per million input tokens for DeepSeek V3.2 and $0.435 for DeepSeek V4 Pro, with Claude and GPT class models costing multiples of that.
