FAQ
Are AI companions safe, private, legit? Ask away.
Every question below is one we would ask before giving a pre-launch site our email. Longer answers about the category live on the safety and privacy guide.
Straight answers
Is this legit? What do I actually get right now? +
Aroused is a real product in honest early access. Today you get the live companion demo on this site and a confirmed spot on the early-access list. The full platform (persistent companions, memory, matchmaking) opens in waves; we email you when your spot is ready. Nobody is charged anything today.
Do I need to pay or add a card now? +
No. Joining early access is free and requires no card. The prices on the pricing page are planned launch pricing, published early so nobody is surprised later. You will always confirm a plan explicitly before any billing exists at all.
What will it cost at launch? +
Planned tiers are Spark at $9.99, Desire at $19.99 and Devotion at $34.99 per month billed annually (monthly billing slightly higher), plus a business licensing tier. No free-forever tier: real memory costs real compute, and we prefer charging fairly over monetizing your conversations. Early-access members get first pick if numbers move.
Privacy and discretion
Is it really private? +
Yes, by architecture and by policy. Demo chats are processed only to generate the reply. We do not publish, sell or advertise on your conversations. The early-access list stores your email and confirmation status. One email to [email protected] deletes everything we hold about you.
Will anyone know I use this? +
The site sends no social notifications and shares nothing anywhere. At launch, billing is planned to appear under a neutral, discreet descriptor on statements. Discretion is a design requirement, not an afterthought.
Are the companions real people? +
No, and we never pretend otherwise. Every companion is a fictional AI character with an original portrait. Ask one directly and it will tell you it is an AI. The honesty is what makes the whole thing relaxing.
Companions and content
How customizable is my companion? +
Deep and deliberate: presence (feminine, masculine or illustrated), face and style, personality, voice, interests and a backstory for how you met. Name, personality and shared interest already work in the demo. The point is designing one companion well, not collecting five hundred presets.
Is this explicit? What does "tasteful" mean? +
Aroused is adults-only but never pornographic. Companions are warm, romantic and at most elegantly flirtatious. Explicit sexual content is refused by hard policy, in the demo and at launch. Think fragrance-campaign, not adult site.
Why 18+, then, if nothing is explicit? +
Because it is a romantic companion platform for grown-ups, and age assurance is basic responsibility in this category. Every visitor confirms adulthood at the gate, every companion is unambiguously an adult, and minor themes are refused absolutely.
Early access
How does the early-access list work? +
You enter your email, we send a 6-digit code, and entering it confirms your spot. Confirmed signups are invited in waves, first come, first served. That confirmation is the entire commitment: no card, no subscription, unsubscribe by replying to any email.
When is launch? +
We say "soon" and mean it, but we will not invent a date to look confident. Early-access members hear real dates first. Meanwhile the demo is live and improving; how-it-works shows what already functions versus what is coming.
Can I just try something today? +
Yes. The chat demo works right now, free, no account: pick a companion, design the basics and talk. It is stateless by design; memory is what early access unlocks.
