Joi AI review, is Joi AI safe, and is Premium worth paying for?

Joi AI is a legitimate explicit companion site run by Novi Limited of Nicosia, Cyprus, with age verification and a full set of legal pages. Premium is worth paying for only if explicit messages, images or creator duplicates are what you want, and only once you accept two things: Joi publishes no price until you have an account, and romantic messages cost Neurons to read on top of the plan.

We build a competing product, so weigh this accordingly. Every claim below comes from Joi's terms (updated 4 June 2026), refund policy (March 2025), privacy policy, help center and app, all read on 1 October 2026. We did not create an account, so where a fact sits behind a login we say so.

How much does Joi AI cost?

Joi does not say. There is no pricing page, the help center links to "Buy Neurons" without numbers, and the shop inside the app loads its prices from a server that answers only signed-in users. What the terms do say is how the money is structured:

The terms add that Premium, Bot Subscription and Neuron prices "may vary based on region, length of subscription, selected Virtual friend, character, or bot, available promotions, and other factors", and that loyal customers "may get beneficial pricing". The app carries a promo badge reading "UP TO 50% OFF". So the starting prices quoted by review sites are one checkout on one day, not a list price. What do Neurons cost on Joi AI?

Section 3.4 of the terms is unusually specific: "One romantic message costs 4 neurons to be read. One photo view costs up to 120 neurons depending on the theme. One video view costs up to 1900 neurons depending on the theme." Note "to be read". The companion's replies are what spend your balance, so a long, flirty evening drains it faster than a short one, whoever types more.

Joi does not publish pack prices, but the same company sells EVA AI Soulmate on the US App Store with the same currency: 500 Neurons for $9.99 and 2,000 for $29.99. At those rates, by our arithmetic, a romantic message costs 6 to 8 cents to read, 50 of them cost $3 to $4, a photo up to $1.80 to $2.40, and a single video up to $28.50 to $38. Joi's own packs may be cheaper, especially with the Premium discount, but the shape holds: the plan is the entry fee, and the meter is the bill.

Is Joi AI safe?

In the sense of a real company with real policies, yes. Joi verifies age at signup, at Premium or explicit content, or where local law requires it, using an email-based check, a face scan or a government ID through a third-party verifier, and says it does not keep copies of IDs. Its terms set a zero-tolerance rule on any sexual content involving minors. Its privacy policy says it "neither rent nor sell" your information.

Three clauses deserve a careful read before you pay:

• Chargebacks. The refund policy says that if you charge back a transaction, Joi "may be required to disclose any and/or all private communications sent/received by you" to prove the charge, and that its privacy policy "will therefore not restrain any such disclosures". On an explicit chat site, that makes disputing a charge through your bank a much bigger decision than usual.
• Who sees the chat. The terms say "our representatives might moderate the activity of the chatbot", and the privacy policy shares conversations with "affiliate companies or legal representatives, or service providers". It also mentions session recordings sent to Microsoft.
• Marketing. Clause 2.4 reads "While using the Service you agree to receive advertising mailings from other our products." Use an address you do not mind receiving promotions at.

Can you get a refund from Joi AI?

Rarely. The policy lists three cases: proven card fraud; a one-time mistaken Neuron purchase, refunded in full if unspent and in part if partly spent; and Joi ending your subscription for a reason other than a rule breach. Requests go to support within 14 days of purchase, with a first reply promised within 72 hours. The help center is blunt about everything else: "Subscriptions are generally non-refundable once activated." When you cancel, the plan runs to the end of the period and neurons left over that month are not refunded.

Disputes are governed by Cyprus law. US residents must first try 60 days of informal resolution, then go to AAA arbitration in New York, with small claims court available for claims up to $5,000 and a class action and jury waiver.

Who is Joi AI best for?

Joi is built for explicit chat and media, and it is open about it. Its about page sells "official digital duplicates of real celebrities" alongside custom characters, and image and video generation sit in the main menu. If that is what you want, paying for Premium and a Neuron pack is the way the product is meant to be used.

Joi also recruits creators and agencies to license their likeness for those duplicates, and only verified creators may contribute adult content. If you are a creator weighing that deal, remember that your own fans still expect replies from you, and an AI that answers fan DMs in your voice keeps that channel, and the relationship, under your control.

Look elsewhere if you want one companion rather than a catalog, or if paying per message read sounds tiring. Yes. The help center says benefits refresh monthly on every plan, on the day you first bought, and unused benefits roll over into the next month.

How do I cancel Joi AI Premium?

Open Settings, choose My Subscriptions, pick the plan and follow the steps. It ends at the close of the billing period. Bot Subscriptions are separate and need to be canceled on their own.
