Joi AI is an explicit AI companion site run by Novi Limited of Nicosia, Cyprus. It has a free Basic tier and a Premium subscription billed monthly, quarterly, every six months or yearly, but it publishes no price outside the signed-in app. Romantic messages, photos and videos are charged separately in Neurons, which Premium members buy at 10% off.

Joi AI pricing in Neurons

You pay to read, not only to send

Section 3.4 of Joi's terms is the closest thing it publishes to a price list. Neurons pay for anything outside Premium, "including but not limited to romantic, erotic or sexually explicit messages, visual content, or adult-themed scenarios". The wording matters: a romantic message costs 4 neurons to be read, so the companion writing to you is what spends your balance.

Joi sells Neuron packs only inside the app, and the help center says only that bigger packs get a better rate. To give the numbers a dollar scale, the table uses the US App Store prices of EVA AI, a sister app from the same company that sells the same currency: 500 Neurons for $9.99 and 2,000 for $29.99, roughly 1.5 to 2 cents each. Joi's own packs may be priced differently.

Three layers stacked on one account

Joi's terms and app describe what you can buy, just not the prices. Each layer depends on the one below it.

Layer 1

Basic, free

"Limited access", which Joi reserves the right to deny "to anyone at any time". The help center gives free accounts 6 image generations for the life of the account, each stored for 7 days.

Layer 2

Premium, recurring

Billed monthly, quarterly, every six months or yearly, by card, Google Pay, Apple Pay or crypto, and shown on your statement as "joi.com". The app also names a Premium Plus. Yearly plans still refresh benefits monthly, and unused benefits roll over.

Layer 3

Bot Subscriptions and Neurons

Individual characters can carry their own subscription, sold only on top of Premium. If Premium lapses, those characters lock until you pay again, and the terms say that pause earns no refund.

Review sites quote a starting price for Joi Premium. We could not find any figure on a page Joi publishes without an account, and its terms say prices vary by region, plan length and promotion, so treat any single number as one person's checkout, not a list price.

Joi AI refunds, chargebacks and privacy

The clause to read before you dispute a charge

Joi's refund policy, last updated March 2025, ends with a declaration most buyers never reach. If you file a chargeback, it says, "we may be required to disclose any and/or all private communications sent/received by you through JOI AI in order to prove the validity of the charges". On a site built for explicit chat, that is a strong reason to ask support first.

"Our Privacy Policy will therefore not restrain any such disclosures."

Joi AI refund and cancellation policy

When refunds happen

Proven card fraud; a one-time mistaken Neuron purchase (full refund if unspent, partial if partly spent); or Joi ending your plan for a reason other than a rule breach. Ask within 14 days.

When they do not

"Subscriptions are generally non-refundable once activated." No refunds for partial periods, and neurons left in the month are not refunded when you cancel.

Who reads the chat

The terms say "our representatives might moderate the activity of the chatbot". The privacy policy shares chats with affiliate companies and service providers, and mentions session recordings sent to Microsoft.

Clause 2.4: "While using the Service you agree to receive advertising mailings from other our products." Joi says it neither rents nor sells your data.

Disputes

Cyprus law. US residents get 60 days of informal talks, then AAA arbitration in New York, with small claims up to $5,000 and a class action and jury waiver.

Age checks

At signup, at Premium or explicit content, or where the law requires: an email-based check, a face scan or a government ID, handled by a third-party verifier. Joi says it keeps no copy of the ID.

People search for "joi com" about 2,900 times a month in the US. Both joi.com and joi.ai are Joi: the same app version, the same footer, the same legal pages. joi.com runs the build the site calls "JOI Spicy", and joi.ai runs a build tagged "safe" with a tamer homepage title. Joi has no app on the US App Store.

The operator also sells EVA AI Soulmate on the App Store, under the same company name and with the same Neuron currency. If you have used EVA, the Joi meter will feel familiar.
