The short answer
Dopple AI is free with ads and a waiting room at busy times. Dopple+ costs $9.99 a month or $71.88 a year and removes the ads, skips the queue, unlocks Dopple's strongest model and unlimited images. It is a general character library (anime, games, movies, philosophers, even a Kids shows category) run by Dopple Labs Inc. under Florida law. Its website terms admit users from age 13 while the App Store rates the app 18+, and they license your chat history for AI training and targeted advertising. If you want an adults-only companion who remembers you, with no ads and no tracking pixels, that is the gap Aroused fills.

Dopple+ pricing
Two plans, one product
Dopple has no pricing page. The two plans live in the upgrade window inside the app, and the same list sits in the code Dopple's website sends to your browser. On the web, payment goes through Stripe in US dollars as a recurring subscription. On iPhone, Dopple+ is an App Store in-app purchase, and the App Store page does not list its price.

That is cheaper than our Spark year at $77.94 and cheaper than the $119.88 a month-to-month Dopple+ subscriber pays over twelve months. On price alone, Dopple+ is one of the lowest paid plans in this category.
What the upgrade screen promises
4 lines
"Skip Ads", "Unlock Our Most Powerful AI Model", "Unlimited Images" and "Exclusive Chat Themes & PFPs". Dopple does not name the model, give a memory figure, or publish any longer description of the plan anywhere we could find.
Refund terms in writing
None
Dopple's terms of service (last updated June 6, 2023) and privacy policy never mention Dopple+, subscriptions, billing or refunds. The only written rule for iPhone buyers is Apple's: turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends.
Why people look at Dopple+ in the first place
Ads, a waiting room, and a counter
Dopple's sign-up screen says "Never stop chatting. Unlimited & free." The free tier pays for itself with advertising, and three things in Dopple's own code shape what a free user sees and when the upgrade screen appears.
1. The waiting room
At busy times a free user gets a full-screen notice, "You're in The Waiting Room...", with an "Estimated Wait" countdown and a button to "Skip Waiting Room with Dopple+". You cannot close it by clicking outside it.
2. Ads, from Google's ad network
The homepage loads Google AdSense, plus Google Ads, Meta and TikTok pixels and Google Analytics. "Skip Ads" is the first line on the Dopple+ card. Our pages load no analytics and no advertising tags at all.
3. A limit screen with no number
The code contains a limit screen that offers Dopple+, but the limit itself is set on Dopple's servers, not in anything public. One review site puts the free cap at around 150 messages. We could not confirm that figure.
About "Join 1,4xx people who joined D+ today"
The Dopple+ window shows how many people "joined D+ today". In the code Dopple sends to the browser, that number is not fetched from Dopple's servers. The browser picks a random number between 1,000 and 1,999 the first time you open the window, saves it on your device, and shows the same figure on later visits. We are describing what the code does, nothing more. Read it as decoration, not as a sales figure.
Is Dopple AI safe
A Florida company, and a very broad license to your chats
Dopple is a real company with a live app, not a scam. The questions worth asking before you pay are about age, your chat history and what happens if something goes wrong.
Your chat history
Dopple's terms say anything you type "may be used by us for any lawful purpose" and give Dopple Labs a "non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, fully paid-up, transferable, sublicensable, perpetual, and irrevocable license" to it, for "training and fine-tuning our AI algorithms, conducting research, displaying targeted advertisements" and more. For an intimate conversation, that is about as broad as a license gets.
Who it is built for
The US App Store rates the Dopple.AI app 18+ "with content restrictions". The website terms only bar users under 13, or under 16 in the EU, and the character feed includes a Kids shows category next to Boyfriend and Girlfriend. The same terms forbid user content that is "obscene, pornographic". Dopple's documents do not settle what adults may do there.
If there is a dispute
Florida law applies, the named courts are in Miami-Dade County, and disputes go to binding JAMS arbitration with a class action waiver. The terms say an arbitration opt-out is "detailed further in these Terms"; we could not find that procedure anywhere in the text.
Billing complaints
Review sites describe "multiple" Trustpilot complaints about Dopple+ charges. On 24 September 2026 Dopple's Trustpilot page held exactly one review, from July 2025, about an annual charge in pounds with no premium features and no reply from support. One review is not a pattern, and we will not present it as one.
