Yes, you can use an AI companion on a PC, and in most cases you do not need to install anything. The category splits in two. Web based apps such as Aroused, Character.AI, Janitor AI, Candy.AI, Nomi and Kindroid open in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on Windows and Mac, so your PC is a first class device. Mobile first apps such as Talkie, Linky AI and Chai ship only as iOS and Android builds, so running them on a computer means an Android emulator like BlueStacks or LDPlayer. Replika sits in between: it has a browser version, but Replika's own site labels it "Web App (Legacy)". If you want a companion you use on a keyboard, pick one that treats the browser as the real product rather than a leftover.

Is the browser the real product?

How to run a phone only companion on a PC
You do not have to switch apps to use one on a computer. If you are already attached to a mobile only companion, here is the honest version of the emulator route, including what it costs you.
Install an Android emulator
BlueStacks and LDPlayer are the two most commonly used on Windows. Both run a full Android environment inside a window on your desktop. Budget several gigabytes of disk and expect the emulator to want a meaningful slice of your RAM while it is open.
Sign in to Google Play inside it
The emulator installs apps through the Play Store, so you sign in with a Google account inside the emulated device. Worth thinking about if you keep companion apps separate from your main account, because this ties the install to whichever account you use.
Install the app and log in
Search the app inside Play, install it, and sign in with your existing account so your companion and history carry over. Purchases made in the emulator are still Play Store purchases, which matters if you later want to cancel or get a refund.
Accept the trade offs
A phone app in a desktop window is a phone app in a desktop window. Text stays in a narrow column, keyboard shortcuts are hit and miss, notifications get strange, and the emulator is one more program with deep access to your machine. It works. It is just not the same as an app designed for a browser.

Can you use an AI girlfriend on PC?
Yes. Any AI girlfriend app that runs on the web works on a PC in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, with nothing to install. That includes Aroused, Character.AI, Janitor AI, Candy.AI, Nomi and Kindroid. The apps that do not work directly on a PC are the mobile only ones such as Linky AI and Talkie, which need an Android emulator.
Is there an AI companion for Windows 11?
There is no meaningful difference between Windows 10 and Windows 11 here, because the browser does the work. If an AI companion has a web app, it runs on Windows 11 today. What almost nobody in this category ships is a true native Windows program, so treat any site promising a Windows 11 download with real caution.
Does Replika work on PC?
Partly. Replika has a browser version you can reach from a computer, but Replika's own site links to it as "Web App (Legacy)", and the features people subscribe for, the 3D avatar, voice calls and AR, are built around the iOS and Android apps.
