Talkie AI costs $9.99 a month for Talkie+ and $24.99 a month for Talkie+ Pro on the US App Store, where the app is now listed as "Talkie Lab - AI Playground", with Gem packs from $1.99 to $19.99 sold on top. Its terms say all fees are non-refundable and that subscriptions can be canceled only through the store you bought them in. The best Talkie AI alternative depends on why you are leaving. What Talkie charges, read from the store itself
Talkie's website sells Talkie+ Standard and Talkie+ Pro on monthly, quarterly and yearly terms, but the prices only load once you are signed in. The US App Store lists them publicly. These are the ten in-app purchases Apple shows for Talkie Lab, exactly as listed.

What a subscription includes
From Talkie's own benefit list: "Ad-Free", "Free Daily Gems: 30 Gems per day within the subscription period", "Unlimited Chatting" and "Faster AI Responses". Gems still pay for card draws, extra regenerations, rewrites and "Continue speak" counts.

What sends people searching for a Talkie alternative
Talkie is popular for a reason: a huge cast of characters and a slick app. The reasons people go looking for something else are consistent, and they are worth naming before you switch.
The credit and gem meter
Free Talkie stops you with "You've reached your chat limit today. Subscribe to Talkie+ for unlimited access", or offers to "Watch ad to get extra times". Subscribing lifts the chat limit, and Gems keep metering the extras: card draws, regenerations, rewrites. The subscription is part of the bill, not all of it.
Memory that forgets
Roleplay-first apps tend to keep a shallow context window, so the character loses track of what you told it earlier in the week. If you want a companion who remembers your life rather than resetting, weak memory is the single most common reason to move on.
Moderation that shifts
Talkie's content filters have tightened and loosened over time, and characters can suddenly behave differently. When you have built a rapport, an unpredictable filter is jarring. A stable, published content policy is worth more than a permissive one that changes under you.

Worth knowing before you commit
Talkie has been pulled from app stores twice
This is not a security warning and there is no evidence Talkie is shutting down. It is a continuity point. Talkie was removed from the US iOS App Store in December 2024 for unspecified "technical reasons", according to the South China Morning Post. We checked what is there now: Apple's own lookup finds no result for the original Talkie app, and the app you can install on an iPhone is "Talkie Lab - AI Playground", from the same seller, SUBSUP PTE. LTD., first released on 11 February 2025. If you search the App Store for "Talkie AI", that is the name to look for. Talkie was also reported pulled from Google Play for a period in spring 2026 before returning; it is listed there today.
It matters because of what you lose when an app goes away, which is never the subscription. It is the months of conversation history that made the character feel like someone. If you are choosing where to invest that time, a service that has twice been delisted and once renamed is a different bet from one that has not. What is the best alternative to Talkie AI?

Why can't I find Talkie AI on the App Store?
Because in the US it is listed under a different name. The original Talkie app was removed from the US App Store in December 2024, and Apple's lookup no longer finds it. The iPhone app today is "Talkie Lab - AI Playground" from the same seller, SUBSUP PTE. LTD., released in February 2025. On Android it is still "Talkie: Creative AI Community".
Can you get a refund from Talkie AI?
Rarely. Talkie's terms say "all fees are non-refundable to the fullest extent permissible under applicable law" and "Refunds cannot be claimed for any partial-month subscription period." Its help page adds that recharges are non-refundable except for system errors or duplicated transactions. For an App Store or Google Play subscription, any refund request goes to Apple or Google.
Why do people leave Talkie AI?
The three common reasons are the credit and gem metering on premium replies and images, memory that forgets earlier conversations, and content moderation that has shifted over time. None of those is a dealbreaker for everyone, but each is a clear reason to look for a companion app that handles it differently.
Does Aroused have a character library like Talkie?
No, and that is on purpose. Aroused is design-first: instead of browsing millions of preset characters, you author one companion who is yours. If a big library to browse is the main thing you want, Talkie or Character.AI is the better fit. If you would rather build one companion and keep her, that is what Aroused does.
Is Talkie AI safe?
Reasonably, for adults who treat it as a product. There is no reported breach, and its privacy policy makes two unusually strong promises: conversation content is never used for marketing and never disclosed for advertising purposes. The caveats are that the written age floor is 14, the policy names a Singapore entity while press coverage names a Shanghai parent, and retention has no fixed window. Can I move my Talkie characters to another app?
Not directly; companion apps do not share a character format, so there is no import button.
