Is Dopple AI safe? A Dopple AI review before you pay for Dopple+

Dopple AI is safe in the narrow sense: it is a real US company, Dopple Labs Inc., with a live iPhone app, and nothing we found suggests it takes money without delivering. It is not private. Its terms give Dopple a perpetual, irrevocable license to everything you type, for AI training and for targeted advertising, and its homepage loads five advertising and analytics tags. Dopple+ is cheap at $9.99 a month or $71.88 a year, and it is worth it for a daily user who wants the ads and waiting room gone.

We build a competing product, so weigh this accordingly. Every figure below came from Dopple's own site code, terms, privacy policy and App Store listing, read on 24 September 2026, not from other review sites. Where we quote a review site, we say so.

How much does Dopple AI cost?

Dopple AI is free with ads. The paid plan, Dopple+, costs $9.99 a month or $71.88 a year, which works out to $5.99 a month. There is no pricing page. Both figures sit in the plan list inside the code Dopple's website sends to your browser, next to a Stripe checkout set to US dollars and to a recurring subscription. On iPhone, Dopple+ is an App Store in-app purchase and Apple's listing does not show the price.

The annual plan saves 40% against twelve monthly payments, which is our arithmetic. Of the paid plans we have priced first-hand in this category, only a handful cost less for a year, among them SpicyChat's entry tier at $60.00 and PepHop's Lite plan at $35.93.

What does Dopple+ actually get you?

Four things, in the words of the upgrade screen: "Skip Ads", "Unlock Our Most Powerful AI Model", "Unlimited Images" and "Exclusive Chat Themes & PFPs". A separate full-screen notice that free users see at busy times, "You're in The Waiting Room...", comes with an estimated wait and a button to "Skip Waiting Room with Dopple+".

That is the entire description. Dopple does not name its most powerful model, does not publish a memory length, and its terms of service (last updated June 6, 2023) do not mention Dopple+ at all. If you are paying for better recall of an ongoing story, you are buying something Dopple has never put in writing.

Is Dopple AI free, and is there a message limit?

Yes, it is free, and Dopple's sign-up screen still says "Never stop chatting. Unlimited & free." The free tier is paid for with Google AdSense ads and interrupted by the waiting room when servers are busy. Dopple's code also contains a limit screen that offers Dopple+, but the limit is set on its servers and appears nowhere public. One review site puts the free cap at about 150 messages. We could not confirm that number, so treat it as unverified.

Is Dopple AI safe for your privacy?

This is the part to read before you type anything personal. Dopple's terms say your chat history "may be used by us for any lawful purpose" and grant Dopple Labs a "non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, fully paid-up, transferable, sublicensable, perpetual, and irrevocable license" to it, for "training and fine-tuning our AI algorithms, conducting research, displaying targeted advertisements and for any other lawful purposes". Transferable and sublicensable means the license can pass to someone else. Perpetual and irrevocable means deleting your account does not end it.

The homepage matches that policy. It loads Google Analytics, a Google Ads tag, a Meta pixel, a TikTok pixel and Google AdSense. Apple's privacy label for the app lists diagnostics data as used to track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Characters that users create appear in Dopple's community feed, and the terms give every user who chats with your Dopple a broad, perpetual license to copy, display, distribute and modify it and what it generates. If you have published characters under a username you also use elsewhere, it is worth checking what a public-source sweep of that username turns up before you build anything more personal.

Is Dopple AI for adults?

The answer depends on which Dopple document you read. The US App Store rates the Dopple.AI app 18+ "with content restrictions". Dopple's own website terms only stop people under 13 from registering, or under 16 in the EU. The character feed has a Kids shows category alongside Boyfriend and Girlfriend, and the terms forbid user content that is "obscene, pornographic". A US adult looking for an intimate companion is, on paper, using a general platform open to teenagers, under rules that ban the thing they may have come for.

Who runs Dopple, and what if something goes wrong?

Dopple Labs Inc. runs it, according to the site footer, the terms and the App Store listing. Florida law governs, the named courts are in Miami-Dade County, and disputes go to binding JAMS arbitration with a class action waiver. The terms say an opt-out from arbitration is "detailed further in these Terms". We read the full text twice and could not find that procedure.

There is no refund policy anywhere in the terms or the privacy policy. Web subscribers cancel from the Dopple+ plan screen, and the code then confirms that premium access ends on the expiry date. iPhone subscribers must turn off auto-renew in their Apple account at least 24 hours before the period ends.

Are the Dopple+ billing complaints real?

Several review sites say Trustpilot holds "multiple" complaints about Dopple+ charges. On 24 September 2026, Dopple's Trustpilot page held exactly one review. Written in July 2025, it describes an annual charge in pounds, no premium features after payment, and no reply from support. One complaint is worth knowing about. It is not evidence of a pattern, and repeating it as "multiple" is how numbers drift from site to site.

What about the "people who joined D+ today" number?

The Dopple+ window says "Join" a number of "people who joined D+ today", usually somewhere in the low thousands. In the code Dopple sends to the browser, that figure is not requested from Dopple's servers. The browser picks a random number between 1,000 and 1,999 the first time the window opens, stores it on your device, and shows it again on later visits. We are describing what the code does, not why. It is not a sales figure, so do not read it as one.

Dopple AI vs Aroused: which should you pay for?
