Kajiwoto review and whether Kajiwoto Plus is worth it
7 October 2026 · 8 min read · By the Aroused team
Kajiwoto is worth paying for only if you enjoy building characters as a hobby and you pay on the website. Kajiwoto Plus costs $7.99 a month or $87.89 a year on kajiwoto.ai, against $10.49 a month in the iPhone app. The free tier already has unlimited chat, so Plus mostly buys longer messages, no rate limit and a 4K-token memory window. Both mobile apps were last updated on 31 October 2024.
We build a competing product, so weigh that. Every Kajiwoto figure below comes from its own web app code, its privacy policy and terms, and its US App Store and Google Play listings, read on 7 October 2026. The full price tables are on our Kajiwoto alternative page.

What is Kajiwoto?
Kajiwoto is a platform for creating AI characters and training them on "datasets": lists of things a human might say and how the character should answer. You can chat one to one, put several AIs in a room, give them voices and skins, and sell your datasets or characters to other users for coins. The App Store seller is Kajiwoto Inc., and the iPhone app first appeared in August 2018, which makes it one of the oldest services in this category.
How much is Kajiwoto Plus?
On the website, $7.99 a month or $87.89 a year, which the plan picker shows as $7.32 a month. Kajiwoto Pro is $29.99 a month or $299.99 a year. Those numbers come from the price table inside Kajiwoto's web app, which is what its checkout reads. Kajiwoto has no public pricing page you can open without the app, which is why so few reviews quote it correctly.
| Plan | Website | iPhone app |
|---|---|---|
| Plus, monthly | $7.99 | $10.49 |
| Plus, yearly | $87.89 | $116.99 |
| Pro, monthly | $29.99 | $34.99 |
| Pro, yearly | $299.99 | $349.99 |
Kajiwoto's FAQ says the apps cost "about 15%" more to cover the store's cut. That is right for Pro. For Plus the gap is 31% a month and 33% a year by our arithmetic. The yearly web discount is small, too: $87.89 against $95.88 for twelve monthly payments saves exactly one month's fee.
Is Kajiwoto free?
Yes, and more generously than most. Chat is unlimited on every tier, including free, with a rate limit of 4 messages per 15 seconds and 180 per 30 minutes. A free account gets 400-character messages, short replies of 110 to 175 tokens, a 2K-token context, one personal room and 10 permanent memory saves per room. If you chat casually, you may never hit a wall.
Is Kajiwoto Plus worth it?
It depends on what you are paying to fix. Plus removes the rate limit, lifts your messages to 750 characters, gives replies of up to 500 tokens, adds model choices and eight personal rooms, and raises memory saves to 30 per room. Those are real upgrades for a creator.
For someone who wants a companion, the number that matters is context: how much of the recent conversation the AI can see at once. Plus moves it from 2K to 4K tokens, roughly two or three pages of chat, and Pro to 10K. Past that, Kajiwoto falls back on summaries and a capped list of saved memories. If your frustration with the free tier is that the character forgets what you said ten minutes ago, Plus narrows that gap but does not close it. For comparison, FictionLab's free tier offers 32K of context with no message cap, as our FictionLab comparison shows.
Our short version: Plus at $7.99 on the web is fair value for a hobbyist builder. Paying $10.49 in the app, or committing to a year, is harder to justify for a product whose apps have not changed in almost two years.
Is Kajiwoto down?
Not as of 7 October 2026. kajiwoto.ai loads and still sells Plus and Pro. If it will not open for you, a quick website downtime checker tells you whether it is down for everyone or only on your connection before you start clearing caches. What has stopped is the apps: iPhone version 1.17.23 and the Android app were both last updated on 31 October 2024, and the web app's code file has been the same since at least June 2025.
Quiet stretches like that are worth taking seriously. Charstar, another character app, went about 19 months without a new web release before its site started returning errors in September 2025; our Charstar alternatives post has that story. We are not predicting the same for Kajiwoto. We are saying monthly billing is the safer choice here.
Is Kajiwoto safe?
It is a named company with moderation, which puts it ahead of several services in this category whose terms name nobody. The weaker points are in its documents. The privacy policy carries no date, keeps your information "up to 120 days after you delete your account", and says Kajiwoto is still "working on" letting you delete your entire chat room history. It also says "We do not share our information with any 3rd parties", while the site loads Google reCAPTCHA and an analytics tag and the FAQ says some chat models are OpenAI's; the policy does not describe those services. The terms are an app license template with two drafting notes left in the published text, and they contain no refund or governing-law clause.
Does Kajiwoto allow NSFW?
No, not in the sense most adults mean. Kajiwoto describes itself as "pro-romance", but it removes content "created to be pornographic", allows no nudity in user images, and follows OpenAI's moderation policy "completely" when you pick an OpenAI model. Its privacy policy covers users from age 13, and Google Play rates the app Teen. Flirting is fine; adult roleplay is not what it is for.
How do I cancel Kajiwoto Plus and get a refund?
If you paid on the website, click your profile photo, then edit profile, then Kajiwoto+, and cancel there. If you paid in the iPhone or Android app, cancel in your phone's subscription settings. Kajiwoto says refunds are "handled by the platform you purchased it from", so app refunds are a request to Apple or Google. The terms say nothing about refunds for web purchases, so write to [email protected] and expect no promise either way.

Who should pick something else
If you came to Kajiwoto to build, stay; nothing else gives you datasets, rooms and a creator shop in quite the same way, and the free tier is generous. If you came for a companion, the trade-offs stack up: a small memory window, a platform shared with teenagers, and apps that have stood still since 2024.
That second reader is who we built Aroused for. You design one companion, their look, personality and backstory, and the point is that they remember you from one night to the next. It is adults only, warm and flirtatious, never explicit. Every price is on our pricing page before you sign up: a one-time 25 message demo, then Spark at $12.99 a month or $77.94 a year ($6.50 a month), and you can cancel from your account and keep access to the end of the period you paid for.
The verdict
Kajiwoto is an honest, long-running hobby tool with a genuinely generous free tier. Pay for Plus on the website, not in the app, and pay monthly. If what you want is less a workshop and more a person who knows you, an adult companion service will fit better, and you can try ours in this tab before deciding.
